Purpose of Committee (CPC)
To find and vet appropriate speakers for the annual conference and any other AA, UAAA, SMA or WiA educational events.
To provide strategic direction and support for the planning and implementation of the annual conference educational agenda and other educational events.
To ensure all conferences and events are consistent with our mission and ensure superior education programs are delivered, keeping our conference rated as the premier industry event in the Asia Pacific region.
The committee Chair is appointed by the AA Board and serves for a period of 2 years. The Chair may be re-appointed once only.
The committee comprises:
a. Five AA Members, ideally one from each state or territory of Australia, but no more than two from any state or territory
b. Three UAAA Members, ideally from different states or territories
c. An AA Director, usually the Major Events Director
d. Staff Liaison (non-voting)
The Conference Convenor will be invited to attend all teleconferences regarding the conference throughout the year. The Conference Convenor does not have a voting right on the committee.
Committee members under sections 2a are nominated by the Chair, and appointed by the AA Board.
The committee members under 2b are appointed by the UAAA.
For committee positions that are not at the discretion of other entities, the recommended term on the committee is three years, renewable for one consecutive term.
Committee members are appointed based on their technical expertise and will represent a variety of disciplines within the Urban Forestry, Utility and related research professions and safety regime.
Each person representing Urban Forestry (SMA and WiA) must have a minimum qualification of Diploma in Arboriculture.
Each person representing the Utility Arborist Association must have a minimum qualification of being a Linesman, Engineer, Diploma in Business Management, Diploma in Arboriculture.
