ENSPEC is searching for suitably qualified enthusiastic Consulting Arboriculturists,which are passionate about arboriculture, focused on the benefits of trees, the natural environment and their positive impact on health and wellbeing, to join its team.

Applicants should have a minimum Australian qualification in Diploma in Arboriculture / Horticulture or an international equivalent. 

Applicants who are currently studying their Diploma in Arboriculture are encouraged to apply.

Applicants should be familiar with Tree Protection Orders, Tree, Environment and Planning Legislations, Native Vegetation Acts and Environmental Overlays.

Previous experience criteria

Applicants should have at least 3years' practical hands-on experience working on tree maintenance crews. This experience must include either the operation of Elevated Work Platforms and/or rope and harness tree climbing. 

Applicants that have no practical hands-on field experience are still welcome at our team but must have a minimum of 6 years of arboriculture consultancy experience, preferably to government agencies.


It is imperative that applicants have a high level of computer literacy, in particular Excel and Word, experience in report writing is highly desirable.  Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have the ability and desire to continue to further their education.


  • Well-developed tree identification and tree health assessment skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to delegate and lead
  • A rounded Arboriculture Industry (job) knowledge
  • Demonstrate commitment to working safely and productively
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft office products (MS Word & Excel)
  • Highly literate and succinct in verbal and written English
  • Clear understanding of email – proper use of spell check, CC, replying and adding attachments 

Candidates should also demonstrate: 

  • Ability to apply and follow systems and procedures
  • Proven ability to produce succinct written information
  • Proven ability to create, produce and review documents
  • Ability to take applied information and articulate this in a written form
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain productive working relationships at all levels
  • A strong customer focus
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and able to work to tight time-frames
  • Self-motivation, excellent time management skills and be able to work autonomously.

Location of employment

The successful applicants will be based in our company's head office and laboratory facility located in Rowville,Victoria.

Interstate consultancy services will at times require employees to travel through the week, returning for weekends.  Although travel is infrequent,these nights away add to around 20-30 nights per annum on average.  

Other Information

The successful applicants must be able to pass a Working with Children Check and must hold a current full Australian driver's licence.  It is also preferred the successful applicant has or is able to gain a passport.

ENSPEC may request the applicant undertake a full medical assessment prior to commencing employment.

Australian Citizen or Residency

To be considered for this position,applicants must be either an Australian Citizen or have been granted permanent residency by the Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs. 


A generous salary package is offered based on skills and experience, including a work vehicle, 10.5% employer superannuation contributions and other company incentives.
