Based at our Coombabah depot, this ground-based Arborist is responsible for:

• Undertaking arboricultural maintenance and improvements of our high-profile foreshore parks, landscaped and recreation areas.
• Operating and maintaining plant and equipment including trucks, chainsaws, chippers, elevated work platforms and general arboriculture equipment.
• Participating in identified training programs to increase skills and knowledge, contributing to the continual improvement of the section.
• Taking pride in your work, having passion for our City and constantly improving your landscaping skills with opportunities and learn new techniques and plant equipment.

Please note that climbing is not a requirement of the position – these activities are performed by contractors.

Requirements for the role:

• Certificate II (or higher) in Horticulture / Arboriculture
• MR Class (or higher) Unrestricted Drivers Licence
• WHS General Construction Induction Card (white card).
• Chainsaw ticket/training is highly desired
• Working knowledge of arboricultural practices with practical experience in tree maintenance and tree removals
• Sound physical health in order to satisfactorily perform the physically demanding duties of the position

The successful applicant will be appointed at the appropriate level based on qualifications, skills and experience between Level 2 and Level 7 of the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award - Operational.
