This fulltime position is responsible for the provision of arboricultural and landscaping advice to assist in the processing of development applications and the issuing of tree works consents.

About the role

This fulltime position is responsible for the provision of arboricultural and landscaping advice to assist in the processing of development applications and the issuing of tree works consents.

On a daily basis you will:

  • Assess and negotiate arboricultural and landscaping solutions relating to the development process including recommending development consent conditions
  • Process tree permit and tree works development applications
  • Undertake tree risk assessments
  • Issue notices, orders in accordance with various legislative Acts and issue penalty infringement notices
  • Investigate and represent Council in legal matters

About You

The successful candidate should have 2-3 years previous experience as a Landscape/Tree management officer in an organisation with similar diversity as the City of Parramatta.

Applicants must have:

Specialised tertiary qualifications and skills in the application of theoretical knowledge within a statutory and judicial framework:

  • A Diploma Arboriculture (AQF Level 5), a Degree in Horticulture/Landscape Architecture, diploma Landscape design or equivalent to above
  • Current motor vehicle Driver Licence.

What’s on offer

We are offering an attractive salary range from $86,409 - $95,156 p.a. plus Super. City of Parramatta also offer excellent employee benefits which can be accessed by the successful candidate.

Participation in Council’s Motor Vehicle Scheme will be discussed with the successful applicant.
